I was already a fan of Del Shores's work, so I was very interested in a chance to costume one of his plays. The fact that it was set in Vicksburg, Mississippi very close to where I actually grew up in Louisiana made it seem like a perfect fit for me. It turned out to be a very powerful story of family and loss that was much appreciated by the audiences. The interesting challenge was creating a believable Pentecostal look for one the zealously religious characters in the play.
