My nephew Colt, having really liked the black and purple vest I made him the previous year, requested another waistcoat for his freshman spring formal at the university, as he didn't want to bother with wearing a jacket. To match his date's silver beaded dress and shoes, we settled on a lightweight woven silver lurex and cotton for the shirt and a silver-on-gray brocatelle with gray and silver pinstriped lining for the waistcoat. I finished it all with rhinestone buttons and cufflinks, brocatelle bow tie, and silver pocket square. The final touch was a silver and gray ribbon boutonniere ordered from Etsy.
