Sofiane Sylve, former principal dancer at SF Ballet, asked me to make a couple of suits for her to take with her to Europe for a new job position. She specifically wanted a maroon velvet suit with hot pink lining for more formal/business affairs, along with a camouflage jumpsuit that she could throw on after dance classes. I used a stretch velvet and a stretch taffeta lining in the suit for maximum comfort, though it gave me extra work structuring the jacket I feel it was worth it. Because this was happening at the beginning of the pandemic quarantine, I was unable to get any camouflage fabric for the jumpsuit. I ended up ordering a huge men's camouflage coverall and took it completely apart to use as raw materials.
